DPL's Network Architecture
Where the Magic Happens
DPL's unique network architecture is what enables Hercules routers to perform 9X better than the competition (learn more...). An extreme amount of thought and care has gone into how the Hercules Platform integrates with each component of the network to ensure optimal performance, enabling operators to do more with less so they can continue to grow their businesses.
The Magic - Trick by Trick
ATM to Hercules
DPL's Hercules routers constantly monitor the connected ATM to detect their service status, look for errors, confirm connectivity to the ATM, and detect Ethernet tampering. They're also multi-datacenter aware, monitor connectivity health to cellular networks, and are programmed to auto-reconnect when issues are detected. Hercules routers are completely touch-free and perform firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updates when required. Hercules routers are also available with optional physical security capabilities (learn more...) and in a multi-carrier (dual SIM) configuration (learn more...).
Hercules to DPL Data Centers Via Cellular Carriers
Hercules routers encrypt and transmit data using a proprietary communications protocol designed specifically for ATM transactions over slow or problematic cellular networks. This protocol also monitors transaction transmission for latency and congestion. From the cellular carriers to DPL's data centers, Hercules leverages 30+ VPN tunnels with dynamic routing ensuring maximum uptime for your ATM.
DPL Data Centers
In addition to providing 99.99% uptime to operators, DPL's geo-redundant data centers are where a lot of the magic happens. DPL's unique store and forward architecture results in fewer failed transactions for operators. Additionally, the central role of the data centers enables DPL to create offerings like Hercules AI and Hercules RMS. Hercules AI minimizes ATM downtime by automatically fixing over 2,200+ common ATM errors and software-related issues (learn more...). Hercules RMS enables operators the ability to remotely monitor and manage their ATMs (learn more...).
DPL Data Centers to Processors
DPL's data centers constantly monitor the health of the payment processors. Leveraging 50+ VPN connections to the processors, DPL's Smart Routing logic re-directs transactions to known good endpoints only, resulting in fewer failed transactions for operators.
Network Operations Center (NOC)
DPL's NOC includes 24/7/365 help desk services providing real-time troubleshooting support to operators. DPL graphs over 30,000 system metrics plus over 4,000 custom metrics, and monitors over 1,000 service availability checks designed to alert NOC staff about problems before they become service-impacting. If coordination with 3rd parties (cell carrier, payment processors, etc) is required, DPL's priority escalation paths result in quicker issue resolution.
